The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) were published in April, 2013 and are based on the Framework for K-12 Science Education put forth by the National Research Council, a federal agency that links science and government.

There is a sense of fear that surrounds the word “science” in our society. Science and politics often seem to be at odds, and we don’t always know who to believe. It is more difficult than ever to determine whether a source of information is reliable or free of bias.
